ingredients and transforming the white flour pancakes into nutritious healthy ones.
Whether we talk about regular home made pancakes or about store bought pancake mixes, we are
talking about the same amount of wheat flour used in their composition.
Why is wheat flour considered to be an unhealthy ingredient? The main reason is that it is
devoid of fiber and nutrients and has almost the same effect on the insulin spike as the ingestion of pure table sugar, not to
mention it encourages fat storage, which is the main reason that most weight watchers will recommend the complete
elimination of white wheat flour products from their diets.
Now, there is no need to worry, we have the solution for you and your entire family, as this
new recipe for healthy pancakes not only provides extra sources of energy but also saves you money as the costs
of the new ingredients are lower but the taste remains the same.
By simply replacing regular milk with soy milk and by using only egg whites, you can easily make a healthy
change in your life. Further still you can reduce the fat by half and you can use unsweetened applesauce as a
replacement for the sugar.
The major change will be to replace the white wheat flour with oats or large flakes (the taste can become a
little less sweet but you will not realize that if you use the right toppings).
Why oats? Very simply oatmeal (porridge) is the oldest form of cereal and used to be served simply with
brown sugar and a little butter on top, it was always recognized as having a tremendous source of
energy.
Recent studies show that oats contain 65% carbohydrates, 17% protein and traces of fats its main property
is that of a low-fat grain.

- 2 cups of soy
milk
- ¼ cup (60 grams) whole
wheat flour

all-purpose flour

cinnamon
